Day 1: Copenhagen

Naomi and I arrived in Copenhagen last night.  The 21st European Literacy Conference starts on August 4th, so we got here a little early.  Neither of us have been to Copenhagen. The trip was great since I used miles for my ticket and was able to travel business all the way.  In Heathrow I had my usual caviar bar stop.

We took a hop-on, hop-off bus around town today to get the lay of the city.  There were a lot of amazing buildings.

We are staying at the Admiral hotel, which turned out to be a great move.  It's a block off the touristy Nyhavn canal and very quiet.  But this afternoon we had our hotel window open and we heard wonderful music coming the theatre area next to our hotel.  This group was on a small float a few feet out from land.  It was a mix of classical and pop.

Here you can see our hotel with the people listening to the concert.  It is a converted warehouse that was built in 1787.

The views from the hotel are spectacular.

We've had a wonderful first day.
